Robert's 1999 Z3 Homecoming Web Journal
Moritz BMW in Arlington
I left work early on Tuesday August 31st in order to make it down to Dallas in time for the party at Moritz BMW. The two and a half hour drive from Norman Oklahoma to Dallas Texas was uneventful, which allowed me one last practice run with the laptop GPS before having a line of Z3s following me (trusting I know where I'm going). I was carrying just under 200 pages of color printed maps that I would be handing out to other Z3 owners, but the laptop was going to be my navigator.
Moritz BMW of Arlington Texas hosted a reception for us the evening before our departure towards the homecoming. We converted one of their training rooms into a banquet hall and enjoyed the food they provided while watching some of the previous Z3 videos that Carter and Duane had made. Once everyone arrived we went over the next days plans, handed out maps and then talked about driving in convoys.
Even though Moritz had officially closed at 7:00pm they let us stay as long as we wanted to. They also opened up their service drive for us to park in. This would be the first of many times over the next few days that a closely parked groups of Z3s would draw out the cameras. Most of the drivers were interested in trying to get a good nights sleep so we drove off in separate directions agreeing to meet the following morning at 7:00am. Now the only problem left to conquer was falling asleep.
