Leaving Dallas

Click for Larger ViewWednesday Morning: I had planned on sleeping until 5:30am, but at 4:30am I found myself staring at the clock wide awake. My mind was racing with thoughts of the days journey and I knew it was hopeless to try and fall back to sleep. I pass the time working on this web page journal and sorting out my days to do list. At 5:30am I decide to head over to the meeting point since there is a good chance other Z3 owners are suffering the same symptoms and might show up early as well.

Click for Larger ViewIt turns out that everyone was just about as early as I was. The first group took off before 7:00am, the second group left around 7:15am. We tried to line up the cars to take a picture, but the thought of hitting the road early cut the picture taking short.

Everything about the drive to Nashville worked like clockwork. Even the construction zones didn't slow us down that much. Alan set a fast pace for the lead group, the lead car reported speeds of 80 to 100, the chase car reported speeds of 80 to 120. The 2nd wing (my wing) didn't go nearly as fast, the lead car had the cruise set on 75 most of the time.
